help with loops

creating loops is a fairly simple process. the easiest to learn are drum pattern sequencers. In our opinion, fruity loops 3 is the best of these. It can be found in our programs section, and is relatively straight forward to use.

if you are creating a loop for inclusion in our song, there are a few things you should pay attention to:

bpm: the bpm of our working project is listed at the top of the page with the song information. you should create loops so that they match this bpm, or are a multiple/divisor. If you change the bpm, it won't sound the same when we use it in our song.

saving loops: we have found that when saving loops in fruityloops, the best settings are 16 bit stereo, save acidized, and wrap remainder (unless it's a one shot).

feel: try to match the feel of the song we're working on. We sometimes intentionally throw something entirely different sounding in, but most of the time we try to keep things similar.

length: most likely, the longer your loops is, the more we can use it. This does not mean you should make it repeat four times instead of once, it means that a longer loop that is continuous is best. try changing your songs settings to 16 or 32 notes per pattern.

uploading loops:

there are a few things you should do before you attempt to upload your file. first, keep the name short, with no spaces. internet servers do not like long names or special characters, and may not display your file. try to keep your files below 2 megs. your file must be in .wav format.

if you have trouble uploading, or your file is over 2 megs, you can always mail it to wavs@misterbuster.com and we will post it for you.

if you have any questions about creating loops or uploading them, please email mike_mfs@misterbuster.com or ben@misterbuster.com and we'll be glad to help...

oh, and one more thing. take your time. we reserve the right to not use crap, so make your loops good. :)
